Martin Todd Allen

Minister, educator, and advocate in Mississippi.

Martin Todd Allen serves as minister, educator, and advocate in his home state of Mississippi. As hospice chaplain to patients facing terminal illness in the nation’s most impoverished state, he gives witness to the ways that profit drives neglect and how greed shortens lives in the USA.

A former missionary, a history teacher, and an LGBTQ advocate, Rev. Allen spent decades inside the very institutions still perpetuating inequality. His personal journey has been a life-long process of unlearning the rigid scripts of White Christo-nationalism from his childhood in Mississippi, and reconstructing a human-centered vision of how we must live together and protect this fragile planet.

With prior military service as a chaplain in the U.S. Army and as an evangelical missionary, Allen brings a unique insider perspective to the mechanics of systemic control. He has collaborated with Ethics in Technology and No Ethics in Big Tech events since 2020 to challenge and confront deep-seated institutional power, state-sanctioned oppression, and religious dogma in the US and around the world. He appears in the documentary Forever Peace Now, speaking on surveillance capitalism and the manipulation tactics of the corporatocracy.

He continues to live, create, and build community in Jackson, Mississippi.
